RETAIN - Radiological Examination Transfer on ATM Integrated Network

Application Scenario

The used architecture is based on two meeting rooms linked through ATM network, in which the terminals are directly connected to local PACS. The medical teleworking sessions where performed two times per week, having each session a duration of one hour for the discussion on three to six previously prepared clinical cases. The ATM connection was set up each time from two up to four hours in order to prepare the technical aspects, such as technical tests, set-up of new software releases, etc.
